I love Val D’Orcia because

With “Amo la Val d’Orcia perchè” we are launching a campaign that is certainly a declaration of love, but also a declaration of intent. We involved friends, artisans, writers, philosophers, collaborators, producers, administrators who live in Val d’Orcia or frequent it regularly. Everyone volunteered and with a positive spirit to reiterate with sobriety, irony, play and light-heartedness that our territory is certainly to be loved but also to be imagined in the near future beyond the clichés, the formulas of simple marketing, with a common idea And

shared. It is just a stimulus, the beginning of a journey that we hope will involve all operators in the area and the people who frequent it.

A bright sun welcomed on Saturday 20 November a series of meetings dedicated to the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO landscape heritage site, held at the Albergo Posta Marcucci in Bagno Vignoni at the conclusion of the ‘Amo la Val d’Orcia perchè’ campaign . The mayors and councilors of the municipalities in the area, namely San Quirico d’Orcia, Pienza, Montalcino, Castiglione d’Orcia and Radicofani debated the theme of the Park and its future prospects; Giulitta Zamperini, vice president of the Orcia doc consortium, Roberto Rossi, chef of the starred restaurant Il Silene in Seggiano, Matteo Antoniello, chef of the Albergo Posta Marcucci and Roberto Rappuoli, food chemist illustrated and commented on the excellence of the territory understood as a common good; entrepreneurs and hoteliers Pasquale Forte of Podere Forte in Castiglione d’Orcia and Michil Costa of Albergo Posta Marcucci have shown how the future of hospitality in general, and in particular in Val d’Orcia, cannot ignore a vision of together that knows how to evaluate the size of tourist flows while respecting and protecting the territory.

The meetings were introduced and guided by Cristiano Pellegrini and Lorenzo Benocci, authors of the recently published essay Valore Val d’Orcia, who described the evolution of tourism in the Val d’Orcia area over the last thirty years through numbers and analyzes collected in the field thanks to a thorough and exhaustive investigation.
