Sant'Antimo
Legend has it that the foundation of this abbey goes back to the IX century and the times of the Holy Roman Empire, led as it was by the Emperor Carlo Magno. The reality we have now is that it is one of the most perfect places to relax, wind down and listen to the gentle hum of the birds, look over the fields of hay,and contemplate the perfection of the architecture in one of Italy’s most important abbeys. The landscape all around seems as if it has been designed so as to add to the grandeur of the church itself. It is indeed as if architecture and nature have come together so as to find a perfect equilibrium as wanted by man in his most intelligent of moods. A treasure not to miss!
